Neeraj Chopra has an advice for Jasprit Bumrah to add more pace; Read it here

The current Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, who is credited with bringing the javelin throw to greater prominence in India, gave his best friend and the country’s top fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, some wise words of wisdom on enhancing his pace. Standing out at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium for the ODI World Cup final, Neeraj praised Bumrah’s distinctive bowling style and named him his favourite fast bowler.

Neeraj remarked, “I like Jasprit Bumrah; I find his action unique,” at the Indian Express Idea Exchange.

Bumrah took 20 wickets in the World Cup and thanks to his strong performances, India could make it to the finals. India’s victory was aided by his remarkable ability to swing the ball both ways. Even though Bumrah gave an excellent performance, Chopra made a small suggestion that might add more pace to his bowling.

“To add more pace, I think he should extend his run-up even further. As javelin throwers, we frequently talk about how bowlers can enhance their pace by beginning their run-up from a slightly farther distance back. He continued, “I like Bumrah’s style.

“Perhaps, the Australian team had a mental advantage early on. I discovered they had a strong mindset when they bowled. By the end, they’d turned it completely around. Despite the difficult batting conditions during the day, he acknowledged that they were confident in their game.”

Chopra is only the third javelin thrower in history to win both the Olympic and World Championship titles, following in the footsteps of world record holders Jan Zelezny of the Czech Republic and Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway.
