Chelsea needed a helping hand from Kieran Trippier, who gifted Mykhailo Mudryk a stoppage time equaliser. The subsequent penalty shoot-out saw the Newcastle man miss his spot kick while Chelsea scored all of theirs to seal their spot in the semi-finals.

Middlesbrough dominated Port Vale to become the only Championship side in an otherwise all Premier League semi-final line-up. Goals from Jonny Howson, Morgan Rogers, and Matt Crooks brought the League One outfit’s fairytale run to an end.

Everton gave their fans hope when substitute Beto struck an 82nd minute equaliser to cancel out Michael Keane’s unfortunate own-goal in the first half. Amadou Onana could have confirmed qualification for them but his tame spot-kick was easily saved by Bernd Leno. Fulham made no mistake after that as they silenced Goodison Park in style.
